It has been such a magnificent weekend. Not only didn’t I have to go to work but after months and months of snow we’ve finally got some decent weather. Actually so decent that we couldn’t resist going to the beach. I was a bit reluctant about going in fear of Buller jumping into the freezing water but Flemming insisted he wouldn’t do it. Of course Buller couldn’t resist the water and if it hadn’t been for the freezing wind sweeping in I might have been tempted myself after seeing the clear blue water. It must have been cold but Buller didn’t seem to mind.
We picked up lunch on our way home and ate in front of the television finally getting around to seeing Breaking Dawn II. That was certainly a disappointment. I couldn’t see how they were going to make that last book which in itself was a bit uneventful into two movies when it was first announced and after seeing the result I now know it couldn’t be done. I only wished they been realistic about it before deciding to milk the cow and make it into two movies. Oh well, it was great snuggling up on the couch after a lovely but chilly walk at the beach.
But I’m guessing that most of you aren’t here to hear about my weekend or my crazy Viking dog throwing himself into the ocean in early March. You are probably here because of the Sunday Art Postcard challenge, right? The theme this Sunday is Mushrooms and toadstools and I had a very particular end product in mind when I started making my card but somewhere along the way I got sidetracked and somehow it ended up like this. The mushroom is still there, just not as visible.
I’m really enjoying these Sunday challenges and the way I see my creativity bloom once more. For a while I felt like all my layouts looked the same. Some nice background with some sort of clustering and very little journaling making the layout sort of pointless. I’m starting to find the joy of creating again after being uninspired for almost a year. I’m even beginning to miss designing and have started playing around a bit. And of course I’m feeling tempted to give the Digital Elite Team at Digital Scrapbook Place a try again although I’m not sure they’d want me. I guess it’s just the time of the year that has that effect on me. A sudden burst of creativity – let’s hope it sticks around for a while.
