Remembering January 2010

I mostly remember January 2010 for all of the snow we had that month and the way we've started January this year, it looks like it might be just the same. But last year we had lots of beautiful clear winter days with a pale blue sky and the sun reflecting in the snow or water. These days were often followed by the darkest nights I can remember when snow filled clouds would fill the sky letting us think that we would never see the daylight again. Nature was amazing during that month and although it was very cold I loved every second of it.

During January a whole new world opened up to me. After wanting it for a long time I finally decided to buy a Canon 50D. It was the first time ever that I had spend so much money on something for myself and with my work situation being so chaotic I couldn't help but to feel a little guilty when I pressed Buy. That was only until I got the camera. Gone was the guilt and all that were left was the sheer pleasure of having done something for myself for once. I took photos of everything I got close to.

After a rough and much too early start in December my precious Godsons came home in January. No one expected them to be out of the hospital until March so we were all thrilled that they were doing so well they were able to come home. They were still so very tiny and slept most of the time but seeing all of the family together again was a thrill beyond compare. That's Victor on the right and Alexander to the left.

But like I said, I mostly remember January for the snow and the beauty of it. That was all before February came and the snow turned boring, black and irritating.
